Mike's Story - Save Prosthetics
If you're in need of prosthetics you'll want to read this. The Medicare administration recently announced it will be making drastic negative changes impacting ALL prosthetic patients. Medicare is now only providing outdated technology and supplies that haven't been used since the 1970s. This step back in technology is dangerous and inefficient. Medicare is essentially making it impossible for diabetics, seniors and amputees to have access to all of the advanced prosthetic technology we've discovered over the last 40 years that have lead to productive and happier lives.
More disturbingly, this proposal contains no medical evidence that it would positive impact the health of amputees, diabetics and senior adults. This is Medicare's solution to balance the healthcare budget - and our elderly, amputees and diabetics are about to feel the full weight of it.
There are over 2 million amputees in America alone and over 200,000 people annually who suffer from amputation. How are these people going to get the resources they need to live normal lives? That's where you can help. Sign the Rescind the Medicare proposal restricting access to prosthetic limbs and returning amputees to 1970's standards of care petition at saveprosthetics.com. We urge you to take an additional step and contact your senators in Washington to put an end to this detrimental act. Your voice matters. We stands with you and are committed to doing everything we can to fight this change.
